The Lower Body Turn Generates Torque for the Swing
When you rotate and torque the large lower body muscles in your legs along with the weight transfer to your trailing leg, power is generated for the swing.
Maximizing Swing Speed & Distance
Proper body mechanics through a strong turn can significantly increase swing speed, leading to more powerful shots.
Establishing Balance
A proper lower body turn helps maintain balance throughout the golf swing, improving shot accuracy and consistency.

Hips
The hips rotate away from the ball, creating a shift in weight to the instep and back of the trail foot aligned with the ankle.
The hips rotate about 45 degrees but should not over-rotate.
Check
Avoid any backward lateral movement of the hips.

Trail Knee
The trail knee will flex slightly and point toward the instep of the trail foot.
Check
The lead knee remains stable, and there should be minimal lateral backward movement.
If there is excessive lifting of the lead foot the weight shift toward the trail instep is incorrect.
